The YOU EAt I EAt Community Unity Food Pantry

Our Mission

We are a non-profit organization501c (3) certification. We have the State of Texas and federal Government approval to conduct business as a non profit charity and accept donations and contributions. Our purpose is to provide food in addition to gently used clothing, household items, games and toy's to poor and low income families of Texas. We believe that all people in need deserve access to healthy and delicious food. We serve all of those in need without judgement and bias.

Free food does not mean low quality. We only serve the highest quality food that we also would eat ourselves.
— Dorene Marcus Corothers, Founder, Director

  • What We've Achieved

  • November 8, 2018 we held our First Annual “Pizza At The Pantry” After School Lunches To Go Program for school aged children and younger! We recognize that some children may not have dinner waiting when they get home and may very well go bed with little or no dinner at all and today we had enough donations to feed 160 children! We also believe that it is very difficult for a child to do homework on an empty stomach. “Full Bellies Make for Better Studies”.

  • November 3, 2018 we were awarded a generous quarterly grant from Superior Healthplan in recognition of our efforts.

  • November 3, 2018. Our Grand Re-Opening! Many, MANY volunteers donated their time, resources and personal funds to renovate the new and much needed larger space!

  • October, 2018 we were awarded a grant from Allstate Insurance.

  • October, 2018 we participated in the 2018 Savers’ Children’s Halloween Fashion Show.

  • October 2018 we revisited “I Heart Media” to update the Community on how things are going with the Pantry but to also inform them that the help is need is ongoing.

  • October, 2018. A young single mother of five came to us in need of home furnishings. She had one mattress set but no frame. We found them a futon bunk bed, a bed frame for the mattress set, a dinette set, and a dresser. With the help of a regular volunteer we picked up, delivered and set everything up in her apartment. She later received a sofa and loveseat from another Organization. The kids were ever so happy to have a place to sleep and eat.

  • October, 2018. The wife of a Veteran and mother of four came to us about their need for living room furniture. Coordinating on their behalf we found and delivered to them a sofa and two very large upholstered chairs.

  • September, 2018. The Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club of El Paso conducted a Fund Raiser and made generous donation.

  • September, 2018 we want on “I Heart Media” to speak to the Community about the need for their ongoing help in serving our less fortunate neighbors.
